Integration course: first steps

Admission to participation and first steps

Those who meet the above requirements can (or must) participate in an integration course.

Step 1 The next step is to apply for admission to the integration course. The application form can be found on the BAMF website.

To ensure that the course remains free of charge for asylum seekers and tolerated persons, an application for reimbursement of costs must be submitted in addition to the application for admission.

Step 2 Before the course can start, applicants must take a placement test. On the basis of the results, the participant is then recommended a specific module or a special integration course. These can be, for example, youth integration courses, parent or women integration courses, integration courses with literacy or certain supporting courses.

On the BAMF website  you will find an overview of all special integration courses.

Step 3 Once admission has been granted, asylum seekers have three months to register for a course.

Do you already know Web-GIS?

Good to know: The geo-based information system Web-GIS of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees can be used to find contact and counselling centers for integration work as well as courses near the place of residence of an interested person. The BAMF also provides further guidance in this regard.

The system can be found on the BAMF website.
