Learning objectives

Once you have completed this course unit,

  • you are familiar with the statutory regulations on initial reception within the framework of basic care and their benefits for asylum seekers
  • you know the possibilities for renting a private apartment as an asylum seeker and as a recognised refugee
  • you are aware of the various hurdles you have to overcome when looking for an apartment as a fugitive
  • you know some consulting and support offers

This section of the course is intended to give you an overview and some basic information about accommodation and finding accommodation as a refugee. Please note that you do not have to be an expert in this field to support refugees. The aim is to provide a basic orientation so that you can give basic advice when needed and refer to federal and state counselling and service centres when necessary.
