The Structure

The CaseWORK Training Seminar consists of three different modules, which are all available in five languages: english, german, italian, greek and slovenian. Each module consists of five to six courses. Click on the following containers in order to learn more about them:

Information

The first module provides you with different kinds of information centering around the topic of migration and it is supposed to serve as an overview. It is important for you to note, that it should not be your intention to become experts at these topics. We are aware of the fact, that you are volunteers and there are professionals for each area. The module consists of a total of six small courses. It gives you a small insight into migration in Europe and on a country level and explains the basic structure of the asylum system and it’s functions. Additionally you will be provided with basic information about topics such as health care for migrants, or finding accomodation and accessing the labour market as an asylum seeker.

Please note: This module is available in five versions providing slightly different contents because the specific information vary from country to country. Please choose the version of your country. For Germany this would be: Information (DE).

Intercultural Competence

As a volunteer working in the field of migration, you are confronted with many different cultures every day. Dealing with all those differences isn’t always easy. Therefore, we would like to strengthen your intercultural competences in the second module and introduce you to basic concepts of culture and cultural standards. Additionally you will be informed about different forms of communication and we will bring to mind prejudices and stereotypes and adress cultural sensitivity. The content is divided into five single courses.

At the end you will find a sixth course, the so-called „training session“ where you will learn to practically apply the knowledge and competences gained in the online learning module. It focuses on practical examples, tasks and quizzes.

Psychological Support

The third module focuses on psychological implications of volunteering and enables you to overcome stresses and strains in the voluntary work with asylum seekers. The module provides a total of five courses.

The fifth course is again a so-called „training session“ where you will learn to practically apply the knowledge and competences gained in the online learning module. It focuses on practical examples, tasks and quizzes.

Different Languages and Versions

As already mentioned, all of our modules and courses are available in five languages. The site should already appear in the right language – if not or in case you would like to change the language you can do so in the upper right part of the screen.

Please note: While the second and third module provide the same information for every participating country, the first module varies in its content. Therefore please choose the module of your country (DE).
