Migration and Health
For refugees, medical care, health insurance and preventive care are important issues. The right to first aid is particularly important for people who have suffered physical and/or psychological damage while fleeing or in their home countries. But also existing or perhaps still undiscovered diseases have to be treated. If fugitives apply for asylum and subsequently also receive the right to stay, future health insurance and health care must also be clarified.
Many questions and uncertainties can arise in all these examples:
- Will I receive first aid?
- Will there be any costs for me?
- What benefits are financed by the state?
- What is required for permanent health insurance and preventive health care?
