- the institutional frameworks of volunteering: traditional ones in major institutions and newer, more flexible and project-oriented forms;
- the most widespread inspirations of volunteering individuals and the finding that most volunteers are motivated by a combination of altruistic and egoistic reasons;
- the six psychological functions served by volunteering and the model by Clary and Snyder;
- the benefits of volunteering, e.g. social integration,improvement of mental and physical health, career opportunities, fun and fulfilment, sense of purpose.
