Medical examination as part of the application process

As part of the initial care and application process, refugees coming to Austria are given an initial examination aimed primarily at detecting infectious diseases. X-ray images are to be used to exclude pulmonary tuberculosis. Specialist examinations or care can be ordered.

It is essential for the refugees to know that the results of the examination have no influence on the outcome of the asylum procedure. Inform the refugees so that fears do not arise and any illnesses can be quickly detected and treated!
